Sale

Perhaps I’m an exception to the “spring cleaning” norm. Spring gets all the recognition as being the time when people start thinking about “out with the old, in with the new.” But, for me, as the happy-go-lucky mentality of summer dissipates, fall is the season that always sparks the re-thinking bug in me. And luckily, Pottery Barn’s Home Office Event has timed itself perfectly with my productivity calendar!

Wrapping up on September 14, the current limited-time offers have really caught my eye. I’ve always been a huge fan of Pottery Barn’s classic simplicity and ageless designs, but I’m more impressed than ever with the brand’s ability to uphold the same timelessness while adding innovative and eclectic detailing.

My first thought about this project desk set: I need it. Well, maybe I don’t, but it’s still dream-worthy. It’s both functional and stylish, raising the typical desk standard from boring to beautiful. Now only if I could scrounge up $589 from my piggy bank!

Next, Pottery Barn’s selection of floor and desk lighting has me stumped as far as what I would choose to illuminate my (hopefully!) newly purchased work space. There are so many great options to choose from.

But you can’t go wrong with the Cole Task Floor Lamp. It’s sensible, chic and on sale!

I also love the Duncan Task Table Lamp with an exposed (preferably filament) light bulb. Perfectly described by Pottery Barn as reminiscent of a salvaged fixture from a turn-of-the-century pharmacy, this piece is full of charming character.

Whether you’re ready to take on refurnishing your home office or looking to just revamp your current space with new lighting or organizers, Pottery Barn’s limited-time event has all the necessities for creating a exquisite work space.

What’s your favorite place to shop for outfitting your home office?

It’s May, and you know what that means: the annual ADAC sample sale. In its 27th year, this event is sure to live up to its name as the “Rolls Royce of Garage Sales.” Literally held in the ADAC parking garage this weekend, May 15th and 16th, it will offer floor samples and one-of-a-kind items up to 80% off. But here’s the best part–it’s a win-win situation. Not only can shoppers save bundles on their treasures but Camp Twin Lakes will benefit, too. Mark your calendar and set your GPS for 351 Peachtree Hills Avenue. For more information, go to the ADAC website or call (404) 995-9596.

While you’re in the neighborhood, check out the 3rd Annual Spring Tent Sale at The Galleries of Peachtree Hills. Taking place Friday and Saturday, May 14th and 15th, this don’t-miss event will feature furnishings and accessories from the likes of Mrs. Howard and Parc Monceau–again, up to 80% off. For more information, go to the Galleries‘ website.

I’m already in a daze just thinking about the possibilities. See you there!

Spring for a Sale!

Some of you may remember my mention of Scents & Feel‘s Fouta Turkish bath towels from my post on outdoor living products last week. Well, this morning I received an e-mail from One Kings Lane, a private home decor sales Web site, regarding a sale through April 1 on the special Fouta towels I was telling you about. The prices have been slashed on these beachy beauties, which are going for as little as $25 each. And the colors are just divine.

The site is also currently hosting sales of Orla Kiely papers, Labrazel bathroom accessories and Olivina Napa Valley bath and beauty products. Click here to learn more about One Kings Lane and join the club for daily home decor exclusives, or tell a friend!

A Smashing Sale

QAP0055

The Englishman Fine Art & Antiques, currently located at the Galleries of Peachtree Hills in Atlanta, is holding an extraordinary moving sale, starting today and continuing through Monday, November 23 (excluding Sunday). A notice on the sale we received this morning touted discounts of up to 60 percent on select merchandise, which is an incredible deal considering the treasures to be found in this two-story showroom. (You may remember the shopping story we ran on The Galleries last March–and all of the fineries we uncovered). One category this shop specializes in is 18th-, 19th-, and 20th-century European oil paintings–one of the largest collections in the United States. And although the name can be a bit misleading, suggesting that the store carries only English art and antiques, when I was last in the store, I was amazed at the unique selection of intricately carved Dutch and Flemish case pieces, gilded oversize French convex mirrors (à la Greenbrier Hotel writing room) and luminous Italian landscapes. Gallery Director George Getlik and Gallery Manager Rachel Evans (an artist in her own right), are just as delightful as the inventory itself.

Stop by during gallery hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday to survey what’s in store. Nearly all shops and galleries at The Galleries of Peachtree Hills are open to the public.
