There’s something magical, and even a bit romantic about it. My parents recently returned from traveling through Northern India, where Indian, Persian and Islamic architectural styles are flawlessly combined in breathtaking structures. Here are some pictures from their trip…

Stunning and perfectly symmetrical, the Taj Mahal was completed in 1653. I had the chance to visit this beauty when I was still in elementary school. Unfortunately, the only thing I remember is thinking it’s the biggest building I’ve ever seen.

The rest of these structures look like they’re taken right out the pages of an Indian fairytale.
