After nearly two years on the market, this Regency-style home in Buckhead designed by Bill Harrison and built by Mark Palmer has sold for $2.632 million. The seller backed way off the original list price of $4.35 million for the home at 2920 Habersham Way, even after lowering it in May to $3.4 million, the home’s appraised price.

“It’s just the sign of the times with the market right now,” says listing agent, Jo Ellen Bradley with Beacham and Co.

The Peachtree Heights home, completed in 2000, had two rooms that replicated the owner’s flat in London and luxurious details such as hand-carved marble mantles from China. The formal interiors caused Bradley to bring in a designer to soften the interiors, by creating a family room closer to the kitchen – where the dining room had been – and incorporating contemporary fabrics.

She says the European architecture of the five-bedroom, five full and three half-bath home was only going to attract a certain type of buyer, and that’s what happened, with the buyer having connections to England. Betsy Akers of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
