Do you often drive by a house that you love, but aren’t exactly sure of its “style?” Send us a picture and we’ll get to the bottom of it!</p>
<p>This home on Tuxedo Road was designed by William B. Litchfield, whose clients previously had a formal Georgian home and envisioned an informal stone cottage in the woods.</p>

<p>1.	It’s on this Sunday’s <a title="Buckhead in Bloom" href="http://www.preserveatlanta.com" target="_blank">Buckhead in Bloom</a> event, the Atlanta Preservation Center’s annual tour of homes. And it’s an appropriate spot, with the home on 2 acres and featuring a courtyard, garden, gazebo with granite countertops, an outdoor fireplace, and a saltwater pool and Jacuzzi. You can purchase tickets in advance at the Cathedral of St. Philip Book Store, Boxwoods Gardens and Gifts and The Swan Coach House, on at the home on the day of the tour (tickets are $40 for non-APC members, $30 for members).</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.atlantahomesmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Outside-BEST.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2325" src="http://blog.atlantahomesmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Outside-BEST-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a></p>
<p>2.	It’s <a title="Buckhead" href="http://www.buckhead.net/architecture/shutze.html" target="_blank">Philip Trammell Shutze original</a>, built in 1936 and renovated and expanded to about 10,000 square feet four years ago by <a title="Harrison Design Associates" href="http://www.harrisondesignassociates.com" target="_blank">Harrison Design Associates</a>. The front of the home was designed in the English Regency style; the back is the American Federal style.</p>
<p>3.	It’s a <a title="Richard Hyatt Columbus" href="http://www.richardhyattcolumbus.com/view_articles.aspx?id=434" target="_blank">bank-owned property</a>, joining others of all price ranges in foreclosure on the market in Atlanta.</p>
<p>The seven-bedroom, 7 ½-bath home, known as The Thornton-Jones House, is listed by <a title="Russell Gray" href="http://www.RussellAGray.com" target="_blank">Russell A. Gray</a> with Harry Norman, Realtors. There’s ample space for extras like a gym, steam, sauna and a massage room, which has one of the home’s eight fireplaces.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.atlantahomesmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/workout.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-2326" src="http://blog.atlantahomesmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/workout-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a></p>
<p>Don’t exert yourself too much this Sunday, though, and enjoy visiting a landmark that’s on the market.</p>

<p>They include this <a title="Bargains in Buckhead Real Estate" href="http://bargainsinbuckhead.com/buckhead-real-estate-bargains-and-sneak-peaks/" target="_blank">Ashford Park home</a> priced at $350,000. The three-bedroom, two-bath bungalow at 1542 Trentwood Place has just come on the market, listed by Stephens, an agent with Dorsey Alston, Realtors.</p>
<div id="attachment_1455" class="wp-caption alignright" style="width: 310px"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1455" src="http://blog.atlantahomesmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/1542_Trentwood-25-300x200.jpg" alt="Photo by Nicholas Vitone" width="300" height="200" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Photo by Nicholas Vitone</p></div>
<p>Stephens tells us the home, which was built in 1951, has a brand new roof, hardwoods throughout, a covered front porch and a fenced-in backyard. The previous owners used one of the rooms for a nursery, which you can see in the photo . And the location is one of the reasons why people want to live in Buckhead – walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Dresden.</p>

<p>Katie and Ian Walker’s Buckhead home, which was featured in our<a title="Atlanta Homes &amp; Lifestyles" href="http://www.atlantahomesmag.com/Atlanta-Homes-and-Lifestyles/March-2009/Self-Portrait" target="_blank"> March issue </a>is under contract, confirms agent Tom Ellicott with <a title="PalmerHouse Properties" href="http://www.palmerhouseproperties.com" target="_blank">PalmerHouse Properties</a>. Katie, owner of TuckerMott, is known for her work on projects such as the <a title="Westside Urban Market" href="http://www.westsideurbanmarket.com" target="_blank">Westside Urban Market.</a></p>
<p>Designed by architects <a title="Keith Summerour" href="http://www.summerour.net" target="_blank">Keith Summerour</a> and Kenneth Garcia, the home at 2952 Howell Mill Road was listed for $4.2 million (down from an original asking price at $5.2 million). Ellicott could not disclose the contract price but says there were “spirited negotiations” that resulted in the Walkers agreeing to a price lower than the asking price.</p>
<p>Ellicott, who had the listing 30 days (it was listed five or so months prior with another firm as well), says he knew the distinctive design – a modern home with classic design elements – was going to attract a particular type of buyer. He says the buyer is a top-level executive with multiple homes and his wife is from the Atlanta area.<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1038" src="http://blog.atlantahomesmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/12579069001-300x214.jpg" alt="Interior" width="300" height="214" /></p>
<p>“Once he got a sense for Summerour design, this one was clearly the standout,” he says.</p>
