This month’s annual kitchen issue has me thinking of my favorite kitchens that have previously graced the pages of AH&L. Here are a few:

I could bake for hours in this classic white kitchen by Summerour Interiors.

Featured in our 2008 Lake Keowee Showhouse, this “non-kitchen kitchen” blends seamlessly into the combination living/dining room.

This beauty by Beth Webb is the epitome of country chic.

John Oetgen takes a bold approach in this vacation home nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Kitchen guru Matthew Quinn used a striated marble for this cool and contemporary island design.

I’ve always admired this kitchen by Sara Steinfeld, who makes traditional walnut look positively sleek in this stainless steel-clad space.

What are some of your favorite kitchens that have been featured in AH&L?

John Oetgen’s in the news again, and not just for his stunning designs for the Living Room in the 2009 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Christmas House, which we’re delighted to be publishing in our March 2010 issue. This time, Oetgen has lent his expertise to an equally stylish new venture: the new JP Collection line of upholstery for Jerry Pair & Associates, which debuted just last week at the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) Market in Dania, Florida.

JP Collection

Oetgen’s decades of design experience have enabled him—in collaboration with Dan Cahoon, Jerry Pair’s president, and Delmas Rushing, the company’s furniture sales specialist—to create an heirloom-quality collection featuring eight-way hand-tied springs, kiln-dried hardwood frames and plush, high-end cushioning for classic pieces born of modern manufacturing technology. The #9211 style love seat is show above, but we think you’ll be just as smitten with the others. Find the JP Collection first at the Atlanta, Dania and New York Jerry Pair showrooms, and learn more about Jerry Pair by clicking here. Oetgen Design’s Web site can be found here.

2009_AHLChristmas House

The 2009 Christmas House designers have been announced, and we couldn’t be more excited about the incredible talents who will be designing this year’s Christmas House rooms! The exceptional architecture of the William T. Baker-designed New England shake-and-stone-style home on West Wesley Road is sure to provide ample inspiration, as well. The 35th-annual Christmas House, which benefits the Alliance Children’s Theatre, will be open for tours November 14 through December 6, with Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles‘ official preview party scheduled for November 13. If you’d like to become a Christmas House sponsor, volunteer, or have questions about the show house or ticketing, e-mail AH&L Publisher Gina Christman at gchristman@atlantahomesmag.com.
