Last Friday, I joined my parents at Speciality Tile Products, Inc. in Norcross to finalize tile selection for their new home. I never knew how daunting this could actually be. After four long hours we were finally done (with just the bathrooms!), and I walked away with snapshots of some great selections.

I have an affinity towards anything with peacock feathers, so I was thrilled when my mother chose these pieces for the powder room.

The floor of the powder room is going to feature the darker “Horn” tile by Rex Ceramiche. This photo doesn’t do this unique porcelain tile justice. The tiles are made to imitate the grain and textures of animal horns.

One of the baths is going to feature this beautiful glass tile. Absolutely gorgeous in person!

Next up is choosing backsplash tile for the kitchen. Do you have any recommendations? (It must withstand my foodie mom’s colorful, exotic spices.)

On a recent online shopping trip to find the perfect gift for my cousin’s bridal shower, I came across this peacock porcelain dinnerware. Since my ancestors are from India, I know I may be a bit partial to anything reminiscent of the country, but these gilded beauties from Anthropologie are too exquisite not to share. And their gold trim gives them an extra touch of class. I just hope my cousin won’t mind hand washing her dishes!
