Do you often drive by a house that you love, but aren’t exactly sure of its “style?” Send us a picture and we’ll get to the bottom of it!

This home on Tuxedo Road was designed by William B. Litchfield, whose clients previously had a formal Georgian home and envisioned an informal stone cottage in the woods.

1.	It’s on this Sunday’s Buckhead in Bloom event, the Atlanta Preservation Center’s annual tour of homes. And it’s an appropriate spot, with the home on 2 acres and featuring a courtyard, garden, gazebo with granite countertops, an outdoor fireplace, and a saltwater pool and Jacuzzi. You can purchase tickets in advance at the Cathedral of St. Philip Book Store, Boxwoods Gardens and Gifts and The Swan Coach House, on at the home on the day of the tour (tickets are $40 for non-APC members, $30 for members).

2.	It’s Philip Trammell Shutze original, built in 1936 and renovated and expanded to about 10,000 square feet four years ago by Harrison Design Associates. The front of the home was designed in the English Regency style; the back is the American Federal style.

3.	It’s a bank-owned property, joining others of all price ranges in foreclosure on the market in Atlanta.

The seven-bedroom, 7 ½-bath home, known as The Thornton-Jones House, is listed by Russell A. Gray with Harry Norman, Realtors. There’s ample space for extras like a gym, steam, sauna and a massage room, which has one of the home’s eight fireplaces.

Don’t exert yourself too much this Sunday, though, and enjoy visiting a landmark that’s on the market.

Stephens tells us the home, which was built in 1951, has a brand new roof, hardwoods throughout, a covered front porch and a fenced-in backyard. The previous owners used one of the rooms for a nursery, which you can see in the photo . And the location is one of the reasons why people want to live in Buckhead – walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Dresden.

These rainy and overcast days are making some folks long for sunshine, and what better place to enjoy the rays than at home?

This Buckhead residence listed for $2.9 million – the price has been dropped by $600,000 – is just the place, with a pool and waterfall and professionally landscaped 1.5-acre grounds. The nautical theme is seen in the furnishings, accessories and fabrics in the guest house, too.

The English Country estate at 5000 Long Island Drive, Atlanta, is listed by Patti Junger with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. The architect of the 4-bedroom, 4 full and 3 half bath home, built in 2004, was T.S. Adams Studio.
